There is one simple practical joke: several people independently from each other are asked to name quickly, without thinking... well, for example, operational system, the weather phenomenon and a geometrical figure. The humor is that absolutely different people in 90 % of cases give absolutely identical answer. The reason is simple: subconsciousness gives out that answer, which person hears more often. Commercial has the same principle - buying, for example, a tooth-paste we first of all pay attention to the paste that we heard a lot of times on the TV.
Every search engine has the same principle - answering the inquiry it shows not those sites, which better fit the inquiry
(here only a person can define - what is better), but those, which have more backlinks... And we, like zombie, consume that is given. Not all of us, however. There are still people who try to struggle with this... Though I don’t think that they have a lot of chances, but it is worth to try. It’s worth especially because these people suggest not just earning money via their own method but they suggest doing that together!
